A Catalogue Of Chinese Raphignathoidea And Studies On Chinese Genus Agistemus(Acari: Prostigmata)

Abstract/Summary:
At present, the superfamily Raphignathoidea has 770 valid species assignable to 57 genera, of which one eighth have been discovered in China. By sorting and generalizing domestic and overseas literatures, the article briefly introduces this superfamily and mainly reviews the history of and progress achieved in the area of Agistemus classification in China. By generalizing and analyzing literatures and sorting out the existing slides in the laboratory, researches on classification of Agistemus in China were carried out. A total of 21 species were identified, including: Agistemus ampliatus Fan, Chen & Lin, A. citrinus Ehara, A. congolensis Gonzalez-Rodriguez, A. cyclobalanopsis Hu & Chen, A. divisus Gonzalez-Rodriguez, A. exsertus González-Rodriguez, A. fleschneri Summers, A. giganteus Ehara & Wongsiri, A. huangshanensis Hu & Hu, A. junipreus Hu & Chen, A. litchii Tseng, A. longanae Tseng, A. longisetus González-Rodriguez, A. macrommatus Gonzalez-Rodriguez, A. miyiensis Fan, Chen & Lin, A. novazelandicus González- Rodriguez, A. pinus Hu & Chen, A. siamensis Ehara & Wongsiri, A. spinosus Tseng, A. terminalis Quayle, A. tucumanensis Gonzalez-Rodriguez. In this article, an illustrated key to all known types of adult female mites in China is provided for the first time. At the same time ,the article also provides description of pictures for Raphignathus zhaoi and A. exsertus, which is given by electronic microscope ultramicro morphological structure. At last the article develops a catalogue of Raphignathoidea in China for the first time, in which specifies the names, namers, location of type specimens, habitat and distribution of all valid species in China.
