"Matrix" had been the major part in "Advanced Algebra" or "Linear Algebra" course in our country. "Matrix"theory has a wide range of applications in many fields of science and technology. A new round of curriculum reform Included some basic and widely used knowledge of Higher Mathematic, "Matrix And Transformation" was added in section 4.2 as an elective part.There are a lot of differences between dealing with the teaching content of matrix in "Matrix And Transformation" and that in "Linear Algebra". This paper compared the difference through literature review and the comparative law . The results showed that the teaching content of the matrix in "Linear Algebra" pay attention to "Disciplines" as the center, Matrix content is more system, from the algebraic point of view to interpret matrix basic knowledge, highlight the "form" structure of thought and "process" of thought; "Matrix And Transform" matrix content set to "Students" as the center, on the point of view of geometric transformations, emphasis in Geometric interpretation and the combining number and shape idea.The paper then makes a teaching comparative experiment on the way of dealing with the two different matrix teaching contents in Hunan Security Vocational and Technical College , through a significant analysis(Z-Test), results showed that: on the aspect of cognitive understanding, the teaching effectiveness of matrix by the way of "Matrix And Transformation" is better than that of "Linear Algebra", on the aspect of Computing capacity , the latter can bring better teaching effectiveness; as for the comprehensive application, both ways are not very satisfactory.The advantages and shortcomings of the two ways have been analyzed and concluded in the paper, and suggestions have been given for the compiling and planning of teaching materials of "matrix and transformation", the matrix teaching of "Matrix And Transformation"in middle school, and the teaching of "Linear Algebra" in the university.
