With social progress and competitive development of oil business, petroleum informatization began to be an inevitable trend. As one of the major works, prospecting for petroleum and natural gas has become a hotspot. It relates to geology, geophysical exploration, well logging, oil test and exploitation, development of dynamic analyse test and some other knowledge, and there have many documents of application, much information about data, complex types of construction. The traditional ways are no longer fit the current demand, and geographic information system takes advantages of saving, managing and analyzing a great many of data which makes it become a new favorable tool of information management on exploring oil and gas. WebGIS is the GIS based on Internet, it can realize the needs of visualization, and also can carry out the goal of communicating and sharing information through Internet, truly improve workers'work efficiency, promote the levels of information management of prospecting for oil and gas and decision making.Based on a detailed analysis of the functional need and the actual condition of the oil company, this thesis develops the work of design and implement, and makes the main achievement as follows:1. Using the one which the oil company already has to integrate and ameliorate the database, then design 6 databases and standardize the format of input and output to meet the data need of this system.2.Choosing MapXtreme as GIS visual flat, C# as development language and using advanced management experience, this thesis designs an architecture which combines B/S architecture with client control, finally realizes those:â‘ completing information management work that be created during exploration and exploitation with GIS visual ways, adding related operations of map elements;â‘¡using correlative production in database to classifiedly manage maps, documents, products data and other data, offering convenience ways to search ,display and analyze related documents of data and maps, really making an ideal union of map and data and effectively management of data come true;â‘¢displaying curves, lithology, stratum data of a well with a visual way to help workers make decision.3.Using LandSat TM data detects slight leak of hydrocarbon alternation information, at last fulfills forecasting oil and gas accumulation zones of target region with the help of remote sensing technique, then designs a separate visual module to assist people concerned to predict target region.This system not only provides a effectual tool for managers to sustain decisions, and also provides a convenient and applied data management platform for bottom operators, it can meet the daily work need of oil companies, then receives good reflect from users with steady preferment, simplicity of operator, friendly interface and some other virtues.
