Flood Disasters has become one of the most widely circulated disasters around the globe. However, flood management has come under severe scrutiny especially within the African Sub-region to provide for a lasting solution to the menace that the flood cause. The Accra Metropolitan Area in Ghana(AMA)was chosen to be the study area to analyse and monitor flood situation in the region.Highly and advanced Earth Observation System(EOS)tools were used to analyse the situation in the area of study. The tools in Remote Sensing to capture data on floods are numerous and these may operate in the visible, thermal and microwave range of the electromagnetic spectrum. This literature aims at analyzing, and monitoring floods in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana using Remote sensing tools. However, the Landsat TM would be employed to collect the available data whilst the ENVI software and ArcGIS would be the generated software for the data processing and analysis. The techniques employed in the research are useful for flood management and risk mapping analysis.A multi Criteria Analysis is used in assessing the flood Risk based on the image from the Landsat Thematic Mapper(TM).Flood types and common concepts in flood management are precisely explained in this literature. This project is also to improve upon existing works, show and authenticate an accurate information system for flood forecasting, planning and management using remote sensing data.Assess the vulnerability and physical vulnerability that are subjected to floods, and using above results to conduct a flood risk analysis of the study area.
