Health Assessment Methods And Application Of Zooplankton Community In Estuary

Nowadays, ecosystem health studies on marine ecosystem, river ecosystem, forest ecosystem, agro-ecosystem, urban ecosystem, etc., have been developed. But study on the biological community is still out of sight. In the thesis, the concept of zooplankton community health was set up based on the fruits of ecosystem health assessment and ecological characteristics of zooplankton. The rudimental theories and assessment methods of the zooplankton community health were discussed, furthermore, the case study of zooplankton community health assessment were carried out in Yangzi River Estuary,Yellow River Estuary and Pearl River Estuary. The main contents and results are as follows:(1) The zooplankton health concept was put forward by integrating relative theories of land and marine ecosystem health assessment and ecological characteristics of zooplankton. The indicator system that include the structure,function and disturbance of zooplankton community was set up. The health grade standard and the health standard ranges of indicators were given by analyzing the history dataes and considering region and season change of these dataes.(2) The weight of zooplankton community health assessment indicators were given by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and entropy weight, the integrated evaluation model and fuzzy synthetic assessment model were established respectively. The results of AHP are more subjective than the results of entropy weight, and the process account of AHP is simpler than the entropy weight. The integrated evaluation model graded the health of each indicator that easier be accepted to human being, but the results are more subjective. The fuzzy synthetic assessment model described the ranges of indicators health grade by the membership function that are more consistent to fact, but the process of account is more complex. (3) The case assessment research results of zooplankton community in Yangzi River Estuary,Yellow River Estuary and Pearl River Estuary show that the health status of zooplankton in the these Estuary have becoming worse from 1959 to 2006, and the zooplankton communities almost are in unhealthy state in spring and summer from 2004 to 2006. Nowadays, the main affection of the zooplankton community health is that the disturbances of zooplankton are more and more serious, which induce the structure and function of zooplankton have changed and succession to degeneration.
