The aim of the study was to assess the distribution pattern of land snails in different kinds of habitat and its zoogeographical structure in Xiangzhigou area, Guizhou, China. An additional aim was to explore the relationship between distribution pattern of land snails and their habitat. The work was undertaken in four districts Guodijin, Majiaochong, Longjingwan and Longjiaocun. Within each district, several sites were studied in different season and habitats, such as forest covered by good vegetation, brush, bamboo, and habitats of farmland. First have random collect in these districts, then have five samples (20cm×20cm) in a 5m×5m random sample were set according to the diagonal sampling method. For research the possible relationship between temperature and distribution pattern of land snails. In Xiangzhigou area, a total specimens of 5,018 land snails were collected, which belong to 103 species (including 7 undefined species), 40 genera, 15 families and 2 subclasses. The fauna of land snails in Xiangzhigou area was quite abundant including Central China district,South- Western China district,Southern China district,North-Eastern China district,Qinghai-Tibet China district,Northern China district and Mongolian-Xinjiang district and some other widespread species. In addition, the main element of fauna was Oriental realm that were 79 species occupying 81.25% of the total, only 4 species of Palaearctic realm, 10 species both in the Oriental realm and Palaearctic realm, the number of widespread species were 3, only inhabited 3.13%.The species and individuals of land snails in forest were the most abundant in different habitats; the four diversity indexes of farmland were the lowest. And in the four cross-sectional collect area, Guodijin,s four Diversity indexes is the highest, Majiaochong is the same as Longjingwan, Longjiaocun have the lowest with every diversity indexes. The correlation between soil carbon content and the diversity index was important, when soil carbon content was 24%, the diversity indexes of land snail was the highest. The correlation between PH and diversity indexes was significant, when soil,s pH was 7.4, the diversity indexes of land snail was the lowest. The correlation between soil active carbon content and the diversity index was insignificant. We fund that follow the altitude reducing, the species, genera and family of land snail was increase. The top of hill have in evidence different with hill root and hill middle. And the hill root have not great different with hill middle. In the same conditions, the individuals of land snails follow the altitude reducing increased evidence. In the research of temperature, we fund that 20~27℃is suitable for land snail living and reproducing. Under 20℃, the species, genera and family of land snail was increase. 12℃is a limited temperature of land snail, 8~9℃is a utmost limited endurance temperature for land snail.Land snails diversity in Xiangzhigou area declined with vegetation and thus follows the widespread pattern shown by most groups of organism. However, faunal variation appears to be more closely related to vegetation, than to the disturbances of human activity. The effects of vegetation on land snails could either be direct or indirect via its effects on soils or humidity or other ecological factors. The effects from the disturbances of human activity on land snails should be indirect via its effects on the environment. In doing so, land snails diversity and other resources may be protected properly; form the complex natural ecosystem for improvement and maintain bio-diversity in these areas.
