Digital holographic stereogram displaying technology has become one of the present focuses of holographic displaying technology with its advantages such as broad themes, three-dimensional display, and vivid effect and so on. As one of the methods of high-quality three-dimensional display, the large scale holography with large vision field has important practical value and commercial prospect, thus has researchers increasingly attention and some researchers in Europe and America have successfully produced large hologram and put them into market. This thesis introduces the method of producing rainbow digital holographic stereogram with mosaic and laser direct writing techniques.Referring to advanced holographic technology inland and abroad, a large scale rainbow holographic stereogram is achieved based on holographic stereogram automatically recording system designed and manufactured by the optical information processing and holography laboratory in Ocean university of China. The whole process includes four steps. First step, model, sampling images and divide the scene by the existing software. Second step, according to method of"hogel"recording, introduce the new image processing technique. Third step, record the small-scale holographic unit using laser direct writing technique. Forth step, complete mosaic of the whole holographic stereogram.The main job of the thesis is: firstly, introduce the image processing techniques which are applied to the"hogel"technique. Secondly, record the small-scale holographic unit with large vision field by laser direct writing technique, by which the holographic stereogram producing process is simplified. Thirdly, achieve hologram which is several times larger than the size of one piece of the ordinary holographic plate by mosaic technique, which verifies the feasibility of mosaic technique. The thesis is composed of five parts. The first part introduces the development and the status quo of holographic technology; particularly the mosaic and laser direct writing techniques, which indicates the trends of recording large holographic technology. The second part mainly expounds the principle of stereogram, laser direct writing technique, mosaic technique and image processing method. The third part expounds experimental process in detail, including confirming the project, parameters and model, image processing, recording rainbow holographic units and the completion of large mosaic hologram. The forth part analyses the experimental result, through the analysis of vision field and image quality, explains whether the technology is feasible, and discussed the problems occurred in the experiment with the corresponding improving method. The fifth part summarizes the experiment and takes a glance of the future work.
