Dynamic Visualization Of Spatio-temporal Data And The Application In Police GIS

Time, space and attribute are the three indispensable elements of geographical phenomenon. With the application and popularization of GIS, not only software and hardware are improved, but also the means of gaining geographic information are more fast and more diversity, since Spatio -temporal data adds a new dimension to the traditional GIS spatial data, multi-dimension Spatio -temporal environment appears. So, visualization of data in the multi-dimension circumstance is becoming a focus of cartography experts.The main purpose of this paper is to realize the dynamic visualization of Spatio-temporal data, using animation map technique and to enhance and improve the human beings' ability of cognizing time and space by designing dynamic legend and interactive expression, explore the movement and transformation rules of geographical element and phenomenon, and carry the replay of history and forecast of future.This paper mainly researched such contents of several aspects below:1,First, this paper expatiates the constitute of Spatio-temporal information and the expressing theory of visualization, put forward the classification and the expression principle of the visualization of Spatio-temporal data.2,This paper analyzes the shortage of existing classification of Spatio-temporal changes, considering the visualization express demand of Spatio-temporal transformation, a classification system of Spatio-temporal change is presented, based on visualization express, which sorts the Spatio-temporal transformation in the real world into seven kinds, each kind characteristic is also studied.3,This paper designs and implements some dynamic visualization expression methods, such as dynamic legend and interactive expression, and with the features of each method, analyzes its visualization expression, discusses its applicability.4,At the last, in the police GIS application, the paper realizes the store and dynamic visualization expression of Spatio-temporal data, which proves the validity of this theory in this paper.Through the research all above, the paper summarizes all works which have been done, and presents the prospects of the Spatio-temporal dynamic visualization.
