Saperdini is one of the largest tribes in subfamily Lamiinae(Coleoptera:Cerambycidae). Many species of the tribe are important pests in agriculture and forest production.Economic significance and comprehensive study progress on Saperdini were introduced in this paper and the external morphology in combination with venation characters of hind wings and characters of female productive organs were comparatively analyzed. The study supported Breuning's systematic classification and verified the rationality of Dr.Wang's opinion on the base veins of hind wings of Saperdini degenerated.Based on the relatively blank study on Saperdini, the fauna of Saperdini in China were studied and the results were listed as follows:1.Study on external morphology of Saperdini adult143 species of 23 genera were recorded and 134 species of 23 genera were described in this paper, including newly accessorial classification history and morphologic date of 127 species of 14 genera.Currently,it is the most comprehensive study on the external morphology of Saperdini adult in China.Keys for 13 genera of Saperdini and species of every genus were given in the paper too.2.Study on the venation of hind wingsAccording to the nomenclature of Polyphaga of Coleoptera given by Kukalova and Lawrence in 2004,the venations of 13 genera,44 species of Saperdini were comparatively studied here and the result revealed that there was an important significance of venation character in classification of species and genus. These characters of hind wings used to classify Saperdini were summzrized.3.Study on the female productive organsFemale specimens of 9 genera,29species were dissected and characters and pictures of each female productive organ were described and given in this paper. The comparison of these characters suggested that female productive organs were important to identify genus and species these characters important in genus and species classification were also given here. 4.The fauna of Saperdini in ChinaThe preliminary faunal analysis of Saperdini recorded in China, consisting of 30 genera,336 species and 28 subspecies, was conducted and the biodiversity and distribution of the tribe were clarified subsequently. The results were listed as follows:both genera and species in Saperdini mainly distributed in Oriental Realm;212 species and 19 subspecies distributed in Oriental Realm, accounting for 63.46%of total;35 species and 2 subspecies distributed in Palaearctic Realm, accounting for 10.16%of total. The longicom-beetles of Saperdini are distributed in 7 regions of insect biogeographical regions in China, mainly in South China region and Middle China region where there are 27 genera and 95species and 8 subspecies. The list of Saperdini distributed in China was given according to the findings of the fauna.
