The Effects On The Flood Disaster Of Land Use And Land Cover Change In The Middle Area Of The Changjang In Ming-Qing Dynasty Period

The historical land use and land cover change is one of the key issues in LUCC research. However the achievement of China in this filed doesn't match her position in the world yet. The research on the effect of land use and land cover change on flood calamity with data analysis is little. This research takes the Jianghan Plain as the research object. Based on a summary of the literature and historical data, this paper analyses the changes of population, cropland changes, water areas change and the construction land by statistical theory. By using the review, the proximate reasoning, the substitute documenting, the population estimating and so on, this research restores and reconstructs land use and land cover changes of the Jianghan region in Ming and Qing Dynasties. In addition, this article analyses the characteristics of the flooding disasters which occurred in the Jianghan Plain in the period of Ming and Qing Dynasties .Further more, the paper tests the effects of land use and land cover change on the flood disaster of this area in Ming and Qing Dynasties using the correlate analysis. The conclusion is that the flooding disaster of this area is the closely to the land use and land cover change,and the land use and land cover change profoundly affects the flood disaster development.The main research content of this paper is as follows.The first chapter introduces this article writing goal, the significance, the thought and the current tendency on this method. The second chapter mainly introduces the basic principle and the method. The third chapter outlines the present situation of the research area, the change of historical population, the present condition of land development. At the same time, this chapter especially introduces restoring methods of land use and land cover in historical period of the Jianghan Plain. The fourth chapter narrated the result of land use and land cover change in the Jianghan plain historical period. The fifth chapter analyzes flooding disaster characteristic in Jianghan plain in the Ming and Qing Dynasties time. The sixth chapter tests the effects of land use and land cover change on the flood disaster in Jianghan plain in Ming and Qing Dynasties time. The seventh chapter summaries conclusions and discusses the research results of this paper.The main conclusions of paper are as follows: 1. Besides the end of Ming dynasty and the beginning of Qing dynasty period, cropland and the population quantity has the increasing tendency in the Jianghan plain in Ming and Qing Dynasties period, but the water area appears reducing tendency constantly.2. Besides the end of Ming dynasty and the beginning of Qing dynasty period, the speed of the flood disaster frequency appears increasing tendency and the flooding disaster influencing scale becomes big more and more in Jianghan plain in the Ming and Qing Dynasties period.3.In Ming - Qing Dynasties time land use synthesis degree index and the land use synthesis dynamic degree change of The Jianghan plain are negative correlation to the flood disaster .this negative correlation indicates that it has prominent effect between land use and land cover change and the flooding disaster.4. By deeply analyzing facts of the effect between the flooding disaster and land use and land cover change, the increasing of the cropland area and reducing of the water area are two crucial effective facts on flooding disaster during the changes of all sorts of land use.
