The superiority of rational function model in solving image localization and the image geometry rectification has more and more obviously. This article carries out experiments on orthorectifying method, The work has following several aspects:⑴Introduced the basic principle, resampling and interpolation of image geometry correction, summarized all kinds of correction models, and analyzed each model from aspects of computation quantity, usability as well as precision.⑵Realized research on the geometry rectification method of IKONOS Remote sensing imagery based on rational function model. And realized the above function using the VC programming.⑶The experimental result indicated: There are bias errors in each IKONOS image. And the errors are the systematic error. This paper presents three different models defined in image space to refine the rational function derived ground coordinates. The models are the translation, scale and translation, and affine models. Different configurations of ground control points (GCPs) are carefully examined to evaluate the impact on accuracy improvement. It is demonstrated that if an appropriate model and GCPs are used, ground point errors can be reduced from 3 to 2 pixels in horizontal.
