| Landsat imagery has abundant spectral information which has found many applications in land classification, forests monitoring, agriculture yield estimation, and so on. IKONOS imagery has high spatial resolution which looks like aerial photos. In this thesis, the focus is put on the fusion of Landsat ETM+ imagery and IKONOS multispectral imagery. The main work and its originalities are as follows:1. Summarizing the existing fusion techniques of remotely sensed imagery in details.2. Discussing carefully the problems of the image pre-processing, including image enhancement, radiometric and geometric correction, image registration and cloud removal.3. Proposing the fusion mechanism and scheme of Landsat ETM+ imagery and IKONOS multispectral imagery, through this scheme, the Tasselled Cap (TC) transformation results with high spatial accuracy and the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) Results with rich spectral and high spatial information can be acquired.4. On the basis of the theoretical studies above, the experiments about TC transformation and PCA are achieved and the good results are obtained using the fused imagery of Landsat ETM+ imagery and IKONOS multispectral imagery. |
