| The construction of large reservoir promotes the reasonable exploration and use of the water resources and the economic and social development. But the reservoir water temperature estimate is one of the important contents for the effect for hydroelectric project, which is also significative to the consecutive use of water resources. This paper is a summarization on the base of predecessors' research findings, and analyses the forming, developing and changing law of the difference water temperature of the dam. A 2D water temperature model of the dam and 1D model in the downstream of a river are built, which is applied to predict the temperature of the Heishanxia reservoir and obtains great research findings. The main contents of the researches and results are as follows:1. A 2D water temperature model is established and is applied to estimate the water temperature of "635" reservoir. At the seme time the empirical formula (the Dongkan method and Zhubofang method) are also used to estimate the corresponding water temperature. Comparing the findings of the three different methods, it shows the data are nearly the same from Jan. to Mar. from May to Sept. and in the middle of Dec. But the only difference is the temperature at the bottom of the dam. But there is a big difference for the three methods in April. 3 centigrade difference is between empirical formula and Dongkan method. And 4 centigrade is between Dongkan method and Zhubofang method. The data from the 2D model method and Dongkan method could match in Oct. and Nov, but Zhubofang method with big difference, which is 5 centigrade warp. The contrast experience deeply reveals the regulation and the characteristics in the reservoir water temperature simulation.2.
