The Design And Implemention For Military Digital Mapping System

Geographical information and spatial data has become the premise and restriction factors in digitized battlefield . The engineering is invested hugely , and the technology is asked very complicatedly. Not only the achievements precision requirement is high, but also the content of information is extensive. The Traditional analog photogrammetric plotting and analytical mapping is not able to satisfy the need of basic spatial information production yet. Along with the application of digital cartography in the field of Cartography, developing the system for digital mapping becomes inevitable.This paper lays special emphasis on discussing the technology scheme, working out the development principle, analysing the software requirement, providing the design. The author also discusses systematically the theory and the key technology of integration of map production and spatial data capturing. Basing on the techniques we've got, we have some thoughts about the system's improving.The main investigation achievements of this paper are as follows: the design of system environment and integrated; map symbolization; three-dimensional data capture and map editing; elements extraction and topologic storage; map decoration and handling the relations of element.
