In the world, Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl, a primitive lizard, is one of rare and dangerous animals, which has been listed on Appendixâ…¡of CITES Convention. Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl., also a rare-survived species in the end of glacial era of Quaternary period in South China, which distribution is rarely narrow, has a very important value of study in evolution of animals and species. Recently, because of humanËŠs destruction and other factors, this species is facing the extinction. In order to protect and reproduce the rare species, it is very important to study ecology and breeding of Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl. There has no report about systematic research on Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl. in every aspect in Guangdong and Guangxi Provinces since it is report that Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl. is discovered in Guangdong Province in 2002. From the years of 2003 to 2005,we carry out the pilot study on Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl., which aimed at providing a theoretical basis and data basis to the section concerned and the scientific field. We do our bit for the protection of Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl.The thesis is divided into four parts: foreword,the general natural condition of research spot,ecosystem,breeding and protection.The foreword introduces ecology character of Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl.,science value of this thesis,and the progress in this species at present. The general condition mainly tells the geographical position,topography,land forms,climate,soil,hydrology and plants of the Jinxiu county Dayao Mountain,Zhaoping County and Luokeng Preservation Zone in Guangdong. The ecology part discusses some contents, including habitat selection,geographic distribution and allopatric,population dynamics and burrow of Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl.. Breeding and protecting analytical studies artificial reproduce,hereditary property and ecology after half- return it to the wild and ecology. We tell the difference of protection between Guangdong and Guangxi Provinces, and give some recommended measure on the basis.The research on habitat selection adopts the sampling method. We develop some example on Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl.ËŠs habitat factors and a multi-statistic-analysis method to the systematic analysis and treat the data of Shinisaurus Crocodilurus AhlËŠs habitat selection.
