This paper explores research on sthe eed plantsdiversity of the giant panda habitat in Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve. The purpose of this study is to fill existing gaps in research and provide a scientific basis and theoretical guidance for the protection of giant pandas and other rare and endangered animals and the rational use of natural resources. This will be accomplished through comprehensive, systematic investigations and studies of seed plant diversity in the area. Research methods include field surveys and analysis of industry-collected data. The study uses investigation and sample surveys, necessary data has been collected in field surveys. Specimens have been identified and all information has been collated. The result shows:1.Research on Biodiversity with am emphasis on seed plants:(1)There are 1,810 species of seed plants (including sub grades)from 136 and 813 genera. 36 species of gymnosperms belong to 4 families and 14 genera;1503 dicotyledon species are under 117 sections and 566 genera, 281 monocotyledon plant species belong to 15 families and 133 genera in Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve. (2)The total number of protected genera unique to China is 44, of which 20 are mono-specie genera, 19 combine few species and 3 more than a few species. 24 endemic plant species of protected areas account for 1.33%.(3) The total number of seed plant species. 40% of the 51 rare and endangered plant species in the protected area, which are typical of seed plant flora in the region, are predominantly located in the temperate north. The composition of unique flora is 25%, earning the rank of second place, and reflecting the ancientness and specificity of flora in this area; Asia , from tropical Asia to tropical Africa, East Asia and North America also share a proportion .The variety of species deomonstrates the characteristics of the flora (4)The north and south of our country. 36 species of 25 genera of orchid plants, account for 1.99% (5) Total seed plants in protected areas.17 species of bamboo plants account for 0.94%2.Total seed plants. 15 different types of seed plant distribution in China further demonstrate the complexity of the flora distribution and geographic composition. From the distribution analysis of the proportion of flora types ,73 genera of world distributions are found in this region, accounting or 8.59% of the total. 201 genera are tropical or centered on tropical center distributions accounting for 23.65% of the total;409 genera belong to temperate component accounting for 48.11% of the total. 106 genera belong to East Asia distribution, which accounts for 12.47% of the total protected areas. 29 are genera endemic to China. They account for 3.14% of the total of protected areas. In addition, there are a few genera endemic to the Mediterranean, West Asia and Central Asia whifch are also found in this area, This indicates that the region is currently an area of transition from north temperate to subtropical zones. Of the 1,810 known species of seed plants, 19 are subspecies , 235 are varieties and 9 are variants. Sub-species account for 14.6% of the total seed plants in this area.3.The research outlined above indicates the genetic diversity of plant species in an area which is also rich in ecosystem diversity, including forest ecosystems, grassland ecosystems and wetland ecosystems. Further, vegetation in the protected area can be divided into 4 groups, 11 vegetation types and 37 formations.
