On The Enlightenment Of Technology Of The Contemporary Era

According to the definition of enlightenment by Kant, back modern philosopher Gadamer generalized the enlightenment movement in history into three times: the first was the ancient Greece reason enlightenment, the second was neoteric enlightenment taking place in France in the 18th century; the third was the present enlightenment taking place in the 50s of the 20th century. Through the reason ideas established after each enlightenment movement, we call these three movements as follows: the ancient Greece reason enlightenment; the neoteric science enlightenment and the present technology enlightenment.The thesis explores the three enlightenments happening in the human history on the base of comprehensive study on the third enlightenment. The author tries to solve three questions: what is the technology enlightenment? Why do we need the technology enlightenment? What are the means and methods of the technology movement? The enlightenment professor Kant once said: Enlightenment means that the human beings try to divorce themselves from the immature state. According to this definition, this thesis considers: the technology enlightenment is that the human beings try to divorce from the immature state caused by the technology application. After two hundred years'neoteric enlightenment, what is the reason of the third technology enlightenment taking place at present? This thesis believes that the technology enlightenment is the essential result of developing science and technology, at the same time, it is the essential demands of the material and spiritual need to the human beings.Different from before, the present technology enlightenment not only includes the mental enlightenment, but also includes the practical enlightenment. Karl Popper claims that knowledge, especially the scientific knowledge is the means of the neoteric enlightenment (including the theoretical technology knowledge and the practical technology knowledge). In addition, this thesis also believes that in the course of this enlightenment movement, the torchbearer is the intellectual of science and technology, as well as the humanistic intellectual. The people who are enlightened are the common public.In a word, the present technology enlightenment gives us an inspiration that we are in the times of the enlightenment; the technology movement is the means of clearing up the technology clouds. The technology enlightenment is a way to the future.
