Jigong Mountain nature preserve is in the south of Henan Province, and it is the famous area of the Dabie Mountain. The highest peak of the mountain looks like a standing cock, so the meaning of its name is cock peak. Locating in the transition of subtropics and warm temperate zone, its vegetation and the species of macrofungi is abundantly. The research has studied the species diversity of macrofungi in Jigong Mountain nature preserve systemically; the emphases are the habitat, resource, the succession of marofungi and the relation of the vegetation and the community of marofungi. The study adopts conventional mycology method, combining with micro-character classifies and chemic inspection. In classification, the study use Hawksworth and G. C. Ainsworth system (1983 ); In Chinese naming, the study use The name and glossary of fungi and The concourse of Chinese fungi which published by Chinese science publishing company. This study neatens and identifies 43 orders 103 families 302 species, they are included ascomycota and basidiomycota, there are 11 species are new records in the region. The number of exemplar is 2062.The study shows that the species richness, abundance and diversity are maximal between 300M to 650M on vertical distribution. The altitude is higher or lower, the value of diversity index is tending to decrease. On seasonal distribution, the number of macrofungi species is maximal in July and August, decreased as temperature and rainfall declined, the species abundance decreased obviously. The component and distribution of macrofungi species relate to niche in forest and the type of vegetation and soil.160 species of macrofungi is important natural and economic resource in Jigong Mountain nature preserve; they are showing the potential in food, healer and forestation.
