The plant population's regeneration is the most basic behavior and process to the multiplication descendant of population and the style of regeneration is one of the survival strategies of plants. However, our research to their regeneration ability is really few until now, so we can't control the harvest time and intensity. But if we establish one kind of regeneration mechanisms of plant resource population, we can control them and actualize the sustainable utilization. As the important resource of Chinese traditional herb, A. senticosus can be use to cure cardiovascular diseases and antiaging effect and so on, so it is liked deeply by the domestic and foreign patients and its productions were demanded greatly. But the commodities of A. senticosus rely mainly on the wildlife resources, it was massively gathered and can't regenerate in a long time, so these will lead to this kind of population reduce suddenly and even vanish in the bigger area. The artificial cultivation of A. senticosus starts late, it can't alleviate the pressure of wildlife resources because of the high expense of cultivation. The quantity characteristics such as the population structure, the module biomass, sexual reproduction and vegetative reproduction and so on were systemic researched in order to reveal the inherent mechanism of the population growth in A. senticosus, the sustainable regeneration mechanism of population and the maximum sustainable yield were elementary studied. And these results can provide scientific basis for the sustainable utilization in the A. senticosus resources.1. The population structure of A. senticosusThe age structure, height class structure, diameter class structure and mortality rate had the significant difference in three plots, the difference was correlated with the biology and ecology characteristic as well as the ecology environment of population, the disturbed level and the average growth speed. Time-specific life table indicated that mortality and survival rate were the result between inner change of population and extremely environment condition, and the life process indicated that the survival curve was closed to Deevey III.2. The module biomass in the A senticosus populationIn the Quercus mongolica forest, the population was in the groove, and the individual biomass and every functional module biomass of population were bigger than in the Theropencedrymion and the secondary forest, the density was 10.2857 plant per square metre, and the population biomass was 250.0454g per square metre in the Q. mongolica forest with 40% canopy density; the growth of A. senticosus population was possible restricted by the slope, the artificial interference and so on in the Theropencedrymion with 60% canopy density, and the density of population was 2.1563 plant per square metre; The high canopy density may be the main factor which restricted the growth of A. senticosus population in the secondary forest with 70% canopy density, and the population density was 3.3333 plant per square metre, but the total population biomass was smaller than...
