In the history of Earth-forming evolvement, interior and exterior geological actions have produced a lot of geological relics with scientific and aesthetic values. Geological relics are the important part of ecological environment, so the protection for them is an important part of nature conservation. In China, there exist all sorts of geological relics, including geological landforms and landscapes, ammonite res fossils, typical ecological sections and tectonic formations. Establishing national geo-parks is an effective way to conserve geological relics. A national Geo-park is set in nationwide typical geological relics with some scale and scope, which possess a special scientific meaning, a natural attribute of rarity and high aesthetic value. Therefore it is very important to evaluate geological relics. On the basis of analyzing the characteristics, types and distribution of nationwide geological relics and the related contents of national geo-parks, this paper chooses 15 indexes from four main categories for the quantitive evaluation of geological relics in national geo-parks. Firstly it works out the weights of every index by means of hierarchical analysis and fixes on the subject function through experts'evaluation, then, by means of fuzzy integrated judgement, carries on the quantitive evaluation of geological relic resources and, according to the principle of maximum subjection, ascertains the rank of geological relic resources in different national geo-parks (with a special reference to six national geo-parks in Guizhou province),finally points out the problems existing in nationwide national geo-parks and provides some countermeasures on sustainable development.
