Reflection On Gene Therapy In The Vision Of Responsibility Ethics

The gene therapy, also called "the gene transfer", means to have intention to carries on genetics to manipulate towards living the cell heredity materials. The concept of gene therapy in this text uses the meaning of "the gene transfer". The gene therapy technique brings mankind a huge welfare but in the meantime, it also brings us unprecedented crisis, which not only relate to the circumstance of the human in the present age, but also concern the existence in the future. It is warmly discussed now. This text is divided into three parts totally to consider the gene therapy under the dimensionality of responsibility ethics. The first part tells the summary of the gene therapy including its concept, classification, basic principles, history and present conditions. The second part tells the essential causes of ethics perplexity of the gene therapy. It considers ethics perplexity of the gene therapy from the angle of the psychology, philosophy, religion ...etc. Finally, it points out that the common of be placed on both sides is people's responsibility consciousness. The third part which is the key of the whole text discusses the responsibility ethics claim in science and technology ages. After explaining the content and the characteristic of the gene therapy, this part tells us what should we do and how to do. That is to say, this text agrees with the medical somatic cell gene therapy and the medical germ-line gene therapy but only when the diseases seriously threaten mankind's health and life. The text opposes to gene enhancement in any forms. The text initiates all social communities to regulate people's behaviors by "self-discipline" and "heteronomy".
