The hilly-gully region, as an ecology-economy sensitive region of special landscape pattern, is the main body of Loess Plateau. The environment in Zhifanggou watershed is improved remarkably, and degraded ecosystem in this area is restored after nearly thirty years due to many researchers managed there. The successful experience in management in Zhifanggou now became a model. And the Xiannangou watershed was just managed in recent years. Based on mapping vegetation type map of the two watersheds, combined with landscape ecology and geographic information systems, compared with Xiannangou watershed, the vegetation characteristics in Zhifanggou watershed was analyzed. The similarities and differences of the two watersheds which was hoped to be found can be scientific proof for the land use in reason and watershed's landscape eco-rehabilitation in the local area. Using the distributing characteristics of the vegetation patch size, the patch shape indices, the fractal dimension, landscape diversity index, fragmentation degree, and so forth, the landscape pattern of two watersheds were analyzed comparatively. The research results are as following:(1)The landscape pattern is similar basically in two watershed: Through nearly thirty year's management, the pattern vegetation ecosystem in Zhifanggou watershed is reasonable relatively, and the proportion of forest and grassland is higher than other types. The area of forest and grassland come to 5.23 km2 with 63.16 percent of Zhifanggou watershed. the perimeter of forest and grassland come to 132.54km2 with 68.24 percent of Zhifanggou watershed; the area of different landscape types was very uneven, the area of Robinia pseudoacacia forest was largest, with 1.429km2. The proportion of forest and grassland is also higher than other types in Xiannangou watershed, the other landscape parameter were just similar with Zhifanggou watershed. The total area of shrub, farmland, orchard, and so on was small relatively, with lower than 40 percent of the whole watershed. The number of different landscape types was very uneven too. There is no obvious law between different landscape types in the term of the number of patches,the proportion of patches, the density of patches.
