Bacterial cellulose(BC) is produced effectively by some microbes such as Acetobacter xylinum with carbon source includes sugar glucose fructose. In comparison with plant cellulose ,bacteria cellulose has been found to have a unique characters such as high puriy,high crystalline,high tensile strength and bio-degradable,and is expected to be used as a new biomaterials in various industrial fields including food,textile,paper making,biomedical materials and chemical engineeringIn this paper we screened and identified a cellulose producing strain from the bad fruit. Response Surface Methodology was used to optimize the fermentation condition of BC production of XWS-05 , The main results were as follows:With the base culture of LGI ,we screened a cellulose producing strain(named xws-05) from the bad fruit,On the basis of morphological observation and the analysis of the 16S rDNA sequence, XWS-05 was identified as Acetobacter xylinum.
