Research On The Social Control Of Technology

Technology is a double—blade sword. There is no denial about technology's significance to the world, however, technology's negative effects become more and more obvious, it presents in three prospects: the society, the ecology and humanism, technology's negative effects have objective and subjective roots. From the roots of technology's negative effects, we can infer that: eradicate negative effects of technology is impossible, however, partly eradicate or alleviate technology's negative effects is feasible. The natural peculiarity of technology decided that the presence of technology's negative effects is inevitable, but technology's social peculiarity show that technology's effects are relevant to human and can be controlled. Social control of technology is the theme of this paper, it is about how to regulate human's use of technology in proper ways and measures, in order to achieve this aim, we must establish social control system of technology, it includes: the aim of social control system, the process and measures of social control system and so on. It is certain that social control of technology is complicated project, especially at the present situation: private ownship still exists as a part of the current economy system and the whole society is divided into different social groups according to their different economic and political benefits. So we should create proper social measures to make sure of the social control of technology in a reasonable way.
