Landscape pattern indicates the interaction result of a various natural, biologic, and social ecotypic process in the different space and measure, and decides how the all sorts of naturally environmental elements distribute or combine in the landscape space for restricting the different ecotypic process, and affecting the internal transformation of landscape about energy stream or substance stream. Thus, it is effective to comprehend the ecological process according to researching landscape pattern. To analyze the changes of landscape pattern along with times could not only reflect its ecotypic process, but also reveal the system and rule of landscape alternation that implementing the sustainable use of resource.The data of remote sensing with the characteristics of wide cover, fast update, are effective to investigate landscape pattern and dynamic process by designing and comparing the remote sensing of landscape in different periods. Therefore researching the landscape pattern and its changing trend is the foundation for how to reasonably mix the nature or human influence, how to construct the landscape distribution in safe ecosphere, how to issue the effective decision about ecosphere protection and administration.This article, which is relative to landscape of Chongqing, and base on ecosphere principle of landscape, integrates the RS and GIS technique to combine the existing land use with the statistical information. So that it could investigate the changing trend of landscape distribution that start with quantificational analysis in the two different landscape periods.(1) The data analyze of remote sensing. Using the method of geometry correction radiation correction and noise removal to deal with original images. This article probe into thin cloud wiped off from image by homomorphic filter, and handle the topographic normalize routine that eliminating the part of shadow. These method received better effection of correction.(2) The image classification of remote sensing. According to the graded principle of landscape ecology and characters of Chongqing's landscape, a kind of landscape data form TM and ETM were picked up by the supervised classification of maximum likelihood. Landscape pattern have been divided into nine sorts of paddy field, dry land, woodland, shrubbery, another holt, grassland, water area, denizen district, industrial district, and unused field. In addition, classifying the landscape pattern of Chongqing is much accurately closed to requirement, about 89.52%.(3) According to the remote sensing data, to quantificationally analyze the landscape pattern of Chongqing through the class-level index and landscape-level index.In the terms of varied shadow patches, the maximal landscape area of 1995 was dry land, then the next one was paddy field, and the landscape area of unused land was the least. The type of dry land's landscape broke up hugely with the complicated shallow masses, the type of grassland or shrubbery was complex as well as irregular, and the type of denizen or industrial district was spread in the regular form. In the 2000 year, landscape area of dry land was also the hugest, woodland was secondly, and unused land was almost disappeared that was nearly 0.1% of whole landscape. Shrubbery and grassland's shadow masses were the most complex, and the shadow masses' form of the denizen or industrial field were simplex and regular caused of the fierce human disturbance.
