The Research And Implement Of 3-D Imaging System For Multi-arm Caliper Logging Tool

Multi-arm caliper logging tool is specially used to inspect the casing deformation , corrosion holes and corrosion. Each arm has independent sensor, so Multi-arm caliper logging tool can acquire plentiful information about boreholes, log the minimal inner diameter of casing in different directions, determine exactly the change of wall thickness , bend ,rupture , and cauterization of casing.we can transform the measured borehole data into quicklook images, it provide us visual logging results.With the developments of electronics and computer technologies, the number of arms in calipers has been increased which has improved the data reliability, signal processing highly intergrated, the sensors further sophiscated, and more complete log data successfully obtained. With the help of these information, we are able to get better 3D images which provide us visual logging results. The tool provides reliable information for oilfield casing analysis.Based on our project, We pretreat the data first.Based on the reseach of Three-dimension Visualization Technique, we can realize 3D reconstruction by using simplified cylinder interpolation method.We can obtain the eccentric circle's center,radius,maximum drift diameter by using Least square method and the data of multi-armed caliper log. It paves the way for further explaining casing deformation.With the 3-D image standard OpenGL ,3D imaging system is developed for Multi-arm caliper logging tool in Delphi and can run on Windows operating system.The system is simple in the operation and with friendly interface to the user. 3D image can be showed on the screen. We can easily and rapidly realize some disposing functions such as rotating, zooming, fusion, section, staged display,window display,The casing deformation can be reflected by drawing the trace of the eccentric circle's center.Based on the maximal inner diameter and the minimal inner diameter of casing, a qualitative analysis of casing deformation can be presented.
