With the development and maturation of DGPS technology, how to make the best of DGPS technology in marine surveying and mapping is an international and national problem at present.The thesis elaborates the development situation of marine surveying and mapping and the progress and significance of sounding technology at home. Then the thesis systematically discusses the basic principle and methods of GPS Navigation and Positioning the principle and components of DGPS the principle of Echo Sounder and DGPS+ Echo Sounder in underwater topographic survey.The resources of errors when DGPS and sounding technology is used in underwater topographic survey are compendiously introduced. The factors that influence the accuracy of bathymetric surveying are analyzed and the methods of rectification are supposed, which have successfully solved many difficult problems in improving the accuracy of underwater topographic survey. Finally, underwater topographic survey without tide gauge, its corresponding methods, the principle and method of its rough errors' elimination are discussed, which make the system of DGPS+ Echo Sounder is more credible in the field of underwater topographic survey.
