| Nowadays, the philosophy of technology has not its own system of category. Any researchers who have different ideas about the philosophy of technology have to face the same question that how the technology forms and develops from which we can grasp some categories. The thesis insists that the Technology Evolution can be a category in the philosophy of technology.The development of technology is in an accumulating style and a successive process, which we do not deny the fact that the development of technology presents obvious phases. The concept of evolution was used by researchers to depict the feature of development. However, there are some explanations to the Technology Evolution, some of which has so and then mistakes. If we can not make the right interpretation to it, we will not have plenty reasons to use it as a category in the philosophy of technology.The Technology Evolution can be explained by some kinds of revised evolution theory of creature. The technology evolves in the technology condition which consists of natural environment and humanity context. The evolution is not in a way of Darwinism but Lamarckism. The evolution of technology is a process of selection which includes natural and social selection, which means flowing and integration of technology information. The evolution refers to not only the progress, but also stagnation and degeneration. It appears diverse and uncertain, but can be predicted to some degree. Although proceeding continuously, it presents the feature of sudden change in some circumstances. The evolution does not at all means that technology is organism. The interpretation reveals its implications of the Technology Evolution in the engineering philosophy of technology.The illustrating power of the concept is the best. The Technology Evolution indicates that the technology is process, and interprets the law of development very well. Besides, the concept can eliminate some differences in the study of the philosophy of technology too.
