Plant is the spring of life, the basic material of culture' s coming into being, and also the protector of environment. The variety of plant is closely related to the human beings .The more kinds of plant there are, the more space of making use of them there will be. Take the. medical plant as an example, 75%~90% of the population in developing countries depend on the treatment with the medical plant, and in developed countries 40% of medicine come from it. A number of people try to find the medicine from it for curing temporarily incurable diseases. It is much to be regretted that many species of plant are already extinct before people can recognize them. However, once the extinction of a species occur, human beings will forever lose the ability of utilizing it. Cibotium barometz is a famous herbal plant, an only species, and the second grade protective plant in China. The paper takes endangered plant Cibotium barometz as its research. From the point of biology of species and protection, the paper does some research on 43 morphological characters of these individuals in 7 populations of Cibotium barometz and also on the diversity of genetic DNA's AFLP at the morphological divergence and DNA's diversity level respectively. Through the analysis on the differentiation of exertion morphological features, inner genetic mechanism and the relation between the two with the aid of variance analysis and cluster analysis in SPSS program, the paper manages to further reveal the species endangered mechanism, providing certain theoretical accordance of protecting the species .
