Mt. Jinfo is located in Nanchuan district, south of Chongqing city. It situated at28°46′~29°38′N. latitude and 106°54′~107°27′E. longitude. The total area of themountain is about 260 km2. Its main peak is 2251m above the sea level, and its bottomis only 340m. Mt. Jinfo is such a region in which the subtropical evergreenbroad-leaved forest has been conserved well. Mt. Jinfo is located in the Sichuaneast-Hubei west distributed center of seed plants. There are more than 600 packages of liverworts deposited in the herbarium of theInstitute of Botany, CAS. From all these specimens, 22 families, 36 genera and 130species(including ten varieties and eight subspecies) have been identified. The bryoflora of Mt. Jinfo is a part of the bryoflora of Central China. In Mt. Jinfonot only the species of liverworts are very abundant, but the distribution type isdiverse obviously. The families with the numerous species in this region includeFrullaniaceae, Porellaceae, Plagiochilaceae, Lejuneaceae et al. The Trichocoleopsis asan East-Asiatic endemic genus was found in Mt. Jinfo, and fifteen Chinese endemicspecies also were found there. According to our researching, nine species have beenrecognized as new recorded to China, and Trocholejeunea obtusifolia Wu et Huang isidentified as a new taxon to sciences.According to Prof. Wu Zheng-Yi's opinion, the liverworts of Mt. Jinfo have beendivided into eleven areal types. The areal type of East Asia is the most important one(35.94%) for this region, and then, the tropical and subtropical type is also abundant, however the temperate type is the third one. They account for 28.12% and 22.66%respectively. In the East-Asiatic species, there are eighteen species belonging toSino-Japan subtype. In contrast, there are only eight species belonging toSino-Himalaya subtype. Therefore, we consider that Sino-Japan subtype is the mostcharacter of the liverworts for bryoflora of Mt. Jinfo. With the further analysis to the distribution of some Sino-Japan species, we have...
