Our researches on the chemical constituents of Tetraena mongolica Maxim lead to isolation of 8 compounds. These compounds were determined by FT-IR,1HNMR, 13C NMR and MS, they are β-sitosterol, 3-hydroxy-lupanol, dodecyl Myristate,, 5,7,4'-trihydroxyl-3,3' -dimethoxy-flavonol respectively. After treating the seeds of Magnoliagrandifloral with chloroform, we obtained oil extracted by petroleum ether. Then the extract is separated and purified by silica gel column chromatography. By the means of spectral analysis, three compounds are elucidated to be ethyl tetradecenate, propyl pentadecenate and an aromatic compound. The studies on V.delavayi Franch, Holboellia targesii Reaub, Atractylodes macrocephala koidz.show that they contain many mineral elements, vitamins, amino acids, proteins and carbohydrates.
