The Research And Application Of WebGIS Interoperation Model

Geography information System is a computer system for the collection, storage, management, processing, index, analysis and representation of geography spatial data. WebGIS now has gained a rapid progress. It is the hot spot of GIS research and development direction. It will promote the digital level of all industry especial city planning, construction, management and service, the development of GIS. It also has a significant research and application benefits by the providing of GIS to user with network resource. In some existing GIS systems, they have different technology standard and database. With the development of digital city and information management,there exists the requirement of integrate GIS on different platforms and sharing data. It now has a strong requirement of interoperation between different GIS systems, especially to the development of WEBGIS based on Internet.For all these questions, a wide research on correlation technology and appli-cation has been made. The following has been done in this paper.This paper first discusses the main structure, development trend and main research field of GIS. We introduce the architecture and model of WEBGIS, and conclude three interoperation models: data source interoperation, interoperation of data publish and function interoperation of WEBGIS of different architectures. We give some research on the services of connection pool of WEBGIS on different database. We first introduce the modules of publishing data, and the method of visualizing spatial data. Second, we give a detail introduce on the svg/xml technology, and design the rule of spatial object expressed by SVG and XML. In the end, we analyse the technology of interoperation on publishing map data based on SVG/XML.In paper, we also compare two main technology (CORBA,COM/DCOM) of data source interoperation. We focus on CORBA and JAVA for interoperation of different GIS .We also research on the system architecture of WEBGIS based on CORBA/JAVA. This paper has discussed how to use the interoperation of datasource to realized the interoperation of different database, and publish and parse spatial database by SVG/XML, based on two different platform of electric power GIS: transmit electricity GIS on GeoMedia(with access database) and electric GIS on Microstation (with Oracle database). The theory and model of interoperation, putting forward by this paper in a condition of having not standard in GIS, provide one method and approach to different GIS systems of digital city fields. It is very practical and guidable for promoting city's digital nowadays.
