Study On Comprehensive Eco-economic Division Based On GIS In West Mountains Region Of Henan Province

The frangible eco-environment system in west mountains region of Henan Province is threatened by excessive and careless reclamation. Meanwhile, the economic development level of this area is relatively low. The conflict between developing economy and stabilizing the eco-environment system is sharp because of this contradiction. This paper employs GIS-based methods to analyze the interaction and spatial-temporal diversification of complex ecological factors and human activities. In these methods, the mesh is the basal unit of division. It utilizes the kind bottom-up method to explore the eco-economic division, project and optimization. The Luoning County in the west mountains region of Henan Province is a representative case for the study.Through GIS-overlay analysis, according to the diversity, we tentatively categorized the eco-economic system in Luoning County into four eco-economic zones. In addition, according to the principle of sustainable development, the four eco-economic zones should develop ecologically sustainability and economically effectivity. All the economic decisions should be aware of the conservation of ecological value and consider the economic effectiveness as well. The small-scale study presented in this paper on eco-economic division will provide some insights for large-scale research on ecological-economic-social sustainable development in the west mountains region of Henan Province.This paper is divided into seven parts.In the first part, the meaning of theory and practice for eco-economic division is simply narrated on the view of region sustainable development and montology.In the second part, the article reviews the development of eco-economic study and division study, which shows that the study of eco-economic division is advanced. The fruits of formers about the researchful scale and project of division are summarized, analyzed and evaluated. Especially, the method of division based-GIS is mentioned.In the third part, the basic theory and method of the division study are introduced.In the forth part, the whole eco-economic environment is narrated.In the fifth part, the article shows the steps of evaluation and result for ecology factors and human factors with special analyses methods in detailed. Then, according to the principle which is showed before and analysis that has been done, we carry out the division with the method of bottom-up.In the sixth part, the different measures to local conditions are given based on the result before.In the seventh part, we simply review and summarize the article. In addition, several questions are mentioned about eco-economic division.
