The stability of reservoir bank is one of the major problems of engineering geology that should be highly regarded. Restricted by the environment, such as terrain, weather, stratum lithology, geologic constitution and running manner of reservoir, the deformation mechanism of landslide became complex. So it is hard to analogy by a simple mode or calculate by a simple math model. Because of the particularity and diversity of reservoir bank landslide, the deep study on reservoir bank landslide, especially its geologic structure is necessary. It has very important realistic meaning that we make calculation and evaluation of the physics mechanics stability integrating with the existing inspection data. Lijiaxia hydro-power station holds the balance status in northwest electricity net. The stability of the landslide No1 and No2 in front of the dam affect the project construction, dam security and guarantee contribution of power station directly. It is very important to analysis the stability and the glide manner after losing stability of landslide No1 and No2, such as size, speed and direction. With the survey data and deformation inspection data of the landslide No1 and No2in front of this hydro-power station, the characteristics of engineering geology anddestroy mechanism of the landslide are analyzed and experimentally simulated in thepaper. The inspection data of landslides collected during construction and early waterholding period are analyzed roundly and systematically, the resurrection and wispydeformation character is discussed, the stability of landslides during water holding periodis calculated and analyzed with the MSARMA method. The analysis results indicate that the landslides of No1 and No2 is in limit balanceand slack wispy deformation during construction and reservoir running period, thepossibility of large gliding caused by whole stability losing is small, just some small-scaledisassembly slack wispy deformation would appear. It will not bring hazard to the safetyof dam when the landslides are disposed properly before water level reach the naturalwater holding level. The research method and results have realistic and guide significanceto this project and can be used for reference to other slope engineering.
