Using vertical slab polycrylamide gel electrophoretic (PAGE), EST, SOD and POD of four species in Eurydema were studied on four aspects of different sexes, individuals and geographical populations. Conclusions could be drawn from the study as following:1) The results of electrophoretic zymogram and scanning showed that the zymogram of EST is more clear, variform and stable than that of POD and SOD. The activity of EST is higher than that of POD and SOD. And it indicated that the different species has its own distinct zymograms. The characters of EST zymogram can be regarded as an important molecular mark for the research on the systematics of Eurydema. The applicabilities of POD and SOD should be further confirmed.2) The clustering analysis by Squared Euclidean distance coefficients of EST isozyme further proved that the four species of Eurydema in Inner Mongolia are four independent and good species. There are considerable differences among the species. Different sexes, individuals and populations of the same species exist varieties, but smaller than that in species level. The cladogram reflected a relationship of the four species in Eurydema clearly and directly. The facts showed that EST isozyme traits are valuable to some extent in phylogenetic analysis on different species in the genus.3 ) The cladogram showed phylogenetic relationship among the 4 species as ( ( (E.wilkinsi, E.gebleri) E.maracandicum) E.dominulus) based on traits of their EST zymograms.4) A comparison of EST and POD between cabbage bugs and their host plants revealed that both of them don't obvious relativity. And the abdomen-cut insects should be use in isozyme research in order to avoid the effects of materials in gut.5) The results from EST zymogram and scanning of four host plants-Medicago sativa, Dimorphostemon pinnatus, Brassica chinensis var. oleifera, Lepidium latifolium showed that EST zymograms of four host plants have common feature. It's not sure by now whether the zymograms of EST isozyme of the host plants can offer a little basis for research on the phylogenetic relationship between the cabbage bugs and their host plants. It still goes on further studying.
