The mine is one kind of special geographical and industrial region and its geo-spatial, social and economical factors are widespread, comprehensive, complicated and dynamic. The blueprint is the basic data and the main achievement of mine. The traditional blueprint plan and its renewal is extremely tedious work. The application of computer technology makes it possible and feasible that digitizes the collected data quickly and accurately. The author analyzes the situation of blueprint information technology and the characteristics of the data of coal mine, designs one kind of plan for blueprint digitization, and takes the Duerping Mine in Xishan Coalfield as the example to do the test. By means of the digitized results, the author examines the distribution of collapse pillars in Duerping mining area. Finally the author discusses the application of MGIS.This study shows it is a feasible and high efficient method to digitize the blueprint by computer. The author also discovers the MGIS has the broad application prospect in mine system in our country. MGIS will change the mine work greatly.
