In this paper, we studied the relationship of ethylene, active oxygen and Ca2+CaM signal messenger in strawberry and peach during the senescence period after harvest. The understanding of the relationship is helpful for us to uncover the mechanism of senescence and to regulate the fruit ripening. The control of fruits under 4 was set for those put under 25. We also set three kinds of treatments, such as ethylene treatment, TFP+ethylene treatment and Ver+ethylene treatment, and their control was permeated with stilled water. The results are as follows:1 'Chunxing' strawberry had a high rate of ethylene production under normal and low temperature storage, and the rate was clearly enhanced when treated with exogenous ethylene, which shew that the strawberry had some characters of climacteric fruits, yet, its respiratory was similar to nonclimacteric fruits. Therefore, 'Chunxing' strawberry had the characters of climacteric fruits and nonclimacteric fruits. 'Dajiubao' peach had two peaks under normal and cold temperature storage. The ethylene peak value of ethylene treatment peach was not enhanced and the time of the peak appearing was not advanced, either. Thus, the peach was not belonged to the typical climacteric fruits but the later respiratory rising fruit.2 During the senescence of strawberry and peach, O and H2O2 under normal and low temperature storage were rising, seen from the whole storage time, which shew that active oxygen participated in the senescence. The changing of SOD and GSH were quite complex, which was corresponding with the complication of clearing machanism.3 The changing of Of and H2O2 in ethylene treated strawberry and peach had a small difference with the control, but that of GSH and SOD had a greater difference. This shew that ethylene production was not closely related with the active oxgen'but had a clear influence on the protective system during the senescence.4 The changing of ethylene production of strawberry was correspondent withCa2+CaM under normal and low temperature storage. TFP and Ver treatment could blocking Ca2+CaM and decreased the rising of ethylene production resulting from exogenous ethylene treatment, which proved that Ca2+CaM participated in the ethylene production. But the relationship between Ca +CaM and ethylene prodution in peach was not clear.5 After blocking Ca2+CaM with TFP and Ver treatment in strawberry and peach, Owas reduced, but H2O2 didn't change much. This shew that Ca2+CaM had a closer ralationship with Obut not H2O2,To sum up, O and H2O2 increased during the senescence of strawberry and peach, together with the complicated influence of ethylene and Ca2+CaM.
