Teleogryllus derelictus Gorochov belongs to Orthoper, Gryllidae, is a kind of insect of gradual metamorphosis. It is a good laboratory species. Its advantages include: ready adaption to living in captivity, freedom from disease, moderately large size, no diapause, hardiness, ease of handling, and the availability of inexpensive, easily fed diets. Recently, its harmfulness becomes more and more serious. Now, people have paid attention to it. Cricket is not only soil insect pests, but also medical insect, enjoyed and amused insect, breed insect and edible insect. Its economic efficiency is very huge. And cricket is extensively utilized in insect embryology, physiology, endocrinology, ect. as indicated by perusal of Acridological Abstracts. So, studies on its biology and ecology are very important, which is favorable to development and use of cricket and other sciences. At home and outside, methods of culturing cricket have been previously described. The method used for testing the diets was adaptation of one described before which was used to determine the effect of temperature on nymphal growth. On this paper, we considered Teleogryllus derelictus Gorochov as an object of experiment, observed its biology and ecology, which was relatively few studies relating this. Our aims were to provide a good method which breed Teleogryllus derelictus Gorochov and suitable ecology of the experimental populations of Teleogryllus derelictus Gorochov at 20℃,25℃,30℃,35℃ and 40 ℃. The experimental results showed: stage of Teleogryllus derelictus Gorochov was three parts: egg, larvae and adult. Larvae stage included 10 instars. Its morphological items (width of cephalon, length of corpus, length of antenna, length of certus, weight of body, weight of egg, ect.) were different at different temperature. Developmental temperature was optimum between 25℃ and 30℃ to Teleogryllus derelictus Gorochov. The thermal threhold and thermal sum for development of Telegryllus derelictus Gorochov were estimated at 14.03℃ and 2553.32 day-degrees respectively. The shortest durations were recorded at 35 ℃. The generation survival rates were 29.5%,46.3%,56.4%,13.9% and 0 at 20℃, 25℃, 30℃, 35℃ and 40℃ ,which was highest at 30℃. The highest numbers ofegg laid, rate of egg laid, hatching rate, survival rates occurred at 30℃.At 40℃, larvae developed from 1 instars to 6 instars, and egg didn't hatch, and adult did not lay egg. The relation accorded with logistic curve between generation developed rate (y) and temperature (x): y=0.0005e?856x (R=0.9990**). Temperature was a very important environmental factor on development of Teleogryllus derelictus Gorochov. It had obviously effects on the population parameters, the population increase, ect. The results showed: the relation of net reproduction rate (Ro), innate capacity of increase (Rm) and temperature (t) accorded with paracurve relation. R0=-552.76℃49.472t-0.9115t2;Rm=-0.1606℃0.0126t-0.0002t2. And the relation of population trend index (I) and temperature (t) was: I=- 133.87℃10.496t℃0.1852t2. When temperature was 27.TC, 31.5℃ and 28.3 ℃ respectively, the maximum of RO, Rm and I in theory was respectively 118.52,0.04 and 14.9.
