Anatomy,histology and immunohistochemistry of intestine of Taishan chilin fish are studied in this paper.Taishan chilin fish has no stomach ,esophagus is followed by intestine.The beginning of the intestine expands,the intestine travels as the route of " S" in the body cavity.The ratio of gut length to body length is 3.04.The regression equation of the weight(Y) and the body length(x) is Y=0.1221x 2.2689 .The intestine includes foregut,midgut and postgut.The diameter of gut is getting thin from foregut to postgut.The wall of intestine consists of mucous membrane,tunica muscularis and serous membrane.Mucous epithelium is made up of columnar cells and goblet cells .Tunica muscularis is divided into inner muscularis and outer muscularis.Folds stick out into intestine cavity from mucous membrane and vary in shapes, such as finger shape ,clubbed shape,Some folds have branchs.The height of folds changes from high to low,the number is slowly inclined.The number of goblet cell changes from many to few.From foregut to postgut,tunica muscularis is getting thin slowly. The mucous surface of the intestine are observed with scanning electron microscope( SEM),the results show that the folds are generally vertical saw tooth, some are of the " S " and"V" shape,and there are secondary folds on some folds.The surface of columnar cell is round, triangle or polygon.The rough sketch and boundary line of columnar cell are clear in foregut,midgut and postgut.Microvilli in foregut are long and dense,but short and sparse in postgut. Goblet cells with secretory hole and substance locate in the mucous epithelium.The secretory holes in foregut are bigger than those in postgut.The argyrophil cells of intestine are also studied by means of Fernandez Pascul C'76) ,Grimellus and Pascual, the results show that there is no argyrophil cells in intestine.By using the Strept Avidin-Biotin Complex (SABC) staining technique,4 kinds of antisera such as Gastrin,Somatostation,P-substance,5-hydroxytuptamine(5-HT) raised against human hormones are identified with regard to occurrence and distribution of endocrine cells in the gut.Positive reaction are obtained with antisera against gastrin.No immunoreactivity is found with antisera against Somatostation,P-substance,5-hydroxytuptamine (5-HT) .The morphology of endocrine cells vary in shape,such as club,round,shuttle and pyramid.In cytoplasm of endocrine cells exist many brown granules,nuclear is negative.There is no cytoplasmic process in round and oval cells,nuclear locates at the side of cells.Round and oval cells are close type. Shuttle cell has26two cytoplasmic processes,one extends to the lumen,the other extends to basement membrane,its nuclear is at the central of the cell.Pyramid cell has one cytoplasmic process extending to the lumen,the nuclear is located near the basementShuttle and pyramid give the feature of open type.
