Membrane science and technology related to the scope, which includes physical vapor deposition and chemical vapor deposition, represented by membrane technology, ion beam etching, represented by fine processing technology, film, etching process, monitoring technology, thin film analysis, evaluation and testing technology, thin film materials development, applications. Semiconductor / metal film is coated materials in traditional and viable materials, in electronics and microelectronics industries, energy, information science and other fields is widely applied. This paper first introduces the basic principles of magnetron sputtering technology and features, and introduces the application of this technique when applied coating equipment and processes, but also gives the ellipsometry Ellipsometry Principles and applications of nano-film thickness and refractive index measurements. Then we apply the metal Lorentz-Drude model and the numerical transfer matrix theory to analyze the Ag film in the visible band of the optical properties, and SiO2 thin films in Ag / SiO2 composite film role in the increased permeability, also analyzed at short range and long-wavelength range of Ag film thickness on the Ag / SiO2 composite film optical properties. Finally, we use the FDTD method and the basic theory model of metal dielectric constant of the Gaussian beams in uniform and non-uniform refractive index and the Ag / SiO2 composite film in the optical field distribution, simulation is light in homogeneous media and heterogeneous media the propagation of light intensity vary widely, in Ag / SiO2 composite film in the role of silver is very large, very obvious effect of light reflection.
