This dissertation firstly gives a brief introduction of the properties of porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) films, emphasizes the importance of determination of optical constants, presents the developed history and the latest investigation about the wetting properties of porous membrane, and sums up the great achievements in the study of semiconductor/AAO nano-array composite structure. Subsequently, the dissertation uses"The optical constants of the porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) films and their wetting property"as thesis, mostly describes the following works and results:(1) The structural properties of AAO films are studied, and the result indicates that the resultant AAO films are transparent thin films. We prepare the AAO films in the mixed electrolytes with various volume ratios of 0.3M C2H2O4 and 0.3M H2SO4 and determine the optical constants of the samples. It is found that with the decrease of the volume ratio of C2H2O4 and H2SO4, the refractive index, optical band gap and thickness of AAO films increase, while the extinction coefficient decreases. The calculated thickness agrees well with the measured thickness, which indicates that our results are self-consistent.(2) The wetting properties about the surface of AAO/Al and TiO2/AAO/Al have been studied. It is found that with the increasing of the anodic oxidation voltage or the increase of pore opening time, the water contact angle slightly increases, While the anodizing time almost have no influence on the water contact angle. Meantime, it is interesting that the self-organized TiO2/AAO/Al nano-array composite turns from hydrophilic to hydrophobic.
