Jasmonic acidand (JA), its volatile derivative methyl jasmonate (MeJA, also known as methyl jasmonic acid) and amino acid derivatives of substances collectively known as jasmonates (JAs), also known as Jasmine factors, jasmonate and jasmonate esters, are the overall regulators of plants from plant growth, and widely distributed in plant tissues.MeJA and mock solution were sprayed as a fine mist to completely wet the adaxial side of rosette leaves, respectively. Two rosette leaves on the opposite sides of same rosette were sampled. Lanolin squares containing 200μmol MeJA were pasted to the upper surface of two rosette leaves on the opposite sides of same rosette. Application of pure lanolin served as a procedural control to test for any effect caused by lanolin alone. The two-pasted leaves were referred as direct leaves, which used for local induced response analysis, while the leaves near the pasted leaves were referred as indirect leaves, which were used for systemic response analysis. Plants were harvested 0,12,24,36, and 48 h after treatments. The samples were through two-dimensional electrophoresis and MS analysis.1. Identified protein spots corresponded to 85 unique proteins, as judged by their annotations. The identified proteins were classified into 12 groups based on their biological functions, Fat acid biosynthesis (1%), Cell and cytoskeleton (2%), Transport (3%) Hormone (3%),Protein metabolism (3%), Protein modification (4%),Translation (5%), Amino acid metabolism (8%), photosynthesis (12%), Carbohydrate metabolism (21%), Stress and defence (35%), Unknown (3%)2. Analysis differentially expressed proteins in arabidopsis rosette leaves inresponse to exogenous MeJA, found that the biggest protein group is the protein involved in defense responses (37%). And the protein involved in carbohydrate metabolism and photosynthesis proteins are 21%and 12%. All the other functional groups of the protein were proteins 32%.3. The abundances of various isoforms of 16 proteins were detected in the analysis of differentially-expressed proteins involved in carbohydrate metabolism, photosynthesis, protein modification, stress and defence, amino acid metabolism, and hormone metabolism respectively.4. The results indicated that the effects of MeJA on most processes differentially exhibited on direct and indirect leaves, the significant abundance changes of most protein in the systemic leaves displayed delay compared those in the local leaves.
