To Analysis The Tought Of Astrology In Tianwen Of Huainanzi From The Perspective Of History Of Science

In ancient Chinese period, the concept of "nature" has double meanings, which are objective existence of the material nature and the personification of spiritual origins. It not only includes everything in the world but links to every aspect of the lives of human closely. The Chinese ancient astronomy, in fact namely astrology, that based on the idea of the relationship between nature and human, which had been prosperous for thousands of years without eliminating and was belonged to the royal household. In addition, the development of Chinese ancient astronomy in the world had a high level on the ancient civilization and had been with the high academic value.Completed in the early stage of Han dynasty, Huainanzi is regarded as a academic work of being perpendicular and horizontal. In this book, the author named Liu'an leading his team worked on observing the phenomenon of the material world, researching the history of the human society, and establishing the countermeasures according with actual situation. Therefore, Huainanzi is proved to be more comprehensive, deeper in theoretical and more delicate on writing after the famous work Lvshichunqiu. From the perspective of history of science, the paper bases on the Chapter Tianwen of Huainanzi as the chief and concentrates on explaining the thought in its cultural tradition, philosophical background, the spirit of the age, and astrological knowledge, etc. In my opinion,the ancient China had neither science nor astronomy which were defined with the western measures, but existing the knowledge of astrology in the ancient China which is seen as the tool of connecting the nature to human, what's more it just worked for regime service. To sum up, we should analysis the astrology under the background of the Chinese culture traditional, in the view of history of science rather than from the perspective of modern astronomical theory, such as the anti-whig interpretation, external history, SSK and the concept "local knowledge" and the principle of "cultural relativism" in the anthropology.
