WebGIS is the frontier field of GIS application. The innovation of internet technology propels the fast development of WebGIS. Under the current internet environment, WebGIS takes on the following characteristics:application diversification supported by opening service and standardization; socialization of sharing and collaboration with geographical spatial information, the trend of semantic and mass spactial data and the trend of pursuing value oriented by users'needs.With the emerging of social networking, more and more people are used to obtaining powerful social support from internet in recent years. As an important part of interpersonal communication in the real world, geographical spatial information combining with social network will have an revolutionary impact on the unification and intensification of people's lives both online and offline. Geosocial networking, a WebGIS public application which has new technological form extends social networking by providing context-aware services that support the association of location with users and content. Although there are many applications being categorized into geosocial networking in the Web environment, few research has been done directly to geosocial networking itself.Based on the discussion of geosocial networking, this thesis has mainly researched the key technology of geosocial networking and put forward the pattern of constructing geosocial networking service under the support of multi-platform service. Furthermore, this paper has also made the practice exploration on the prototype of geosocial networking service.In general, research contents and efforts of this thesis include:(1) Analyzing the essence of geosocial networking systematically, putting forward new functions where location is incorporated by geographical service and functions. Discussing the application pattern of geosocial networking under the environment of current internet users'demand.(2) Focus on the key technologies of geosocial networking:design and realization of map view in browser's side, technology of sensing users'geolocation, recommendation pattern based on the accessibility of time and space, solutions of realizing real-time communication between users. (3) Realizing a reusable Javascript development package for browser mapping with our laboratory self-made map service platform based on the HTML5 Canvas API. According to the needs of real-time communication between users, realizing a controllable real-time communication WebSocket service which is called by HTML5 WebSocket API.(4) Design and development of a prototype of geosocial networking service under the multi-platform's support. The realization of a series of geosocial networking functions which are oriented towards users and focus on the sharing and discovery of users'footsteps as well as the communications between users.(5) Summary and prospect are drawn. Pointing out main point in future work and the content of the work to be done.
