| Submarine pipelines are very important to ensure normal operation of offshore oil and gas field. S-lay has its own advantages such as installing pipelines fast and suit for both deepwater and shallow water. It can be assumed that S-lay method will be the trend of deep water pipeline installation. Although the laying of submarine pipelines has been close to 3000 meters in the worldwide, the current situation remained at less than 150 meters in China. In order to exploit the rich and gas resources in the south Sea of China, The technique of the deep and ultra water pipe-lay has become one of the Chinese current offshore priority technology research.In view of this, the following works are carried out in this paper:The detailed description of detailed design is given out in this thesis firstly, and the key issues in detailed design deeply analyzed. And then the combination of Numerical Analysis and Model test is put forward. What's more, the laboratory experiment method about stinger and hitch is proposed.
