Shanggu coalfiled is located in northern foot of Dabie Mountains, within the territory of Xinyang city, is the main coal base in the aera which lack of coal in south Henan. With the development of local national economy , the quantity demanded of coal continuous increase. The occurrence potential of coal resources of Shanggu coalfiled play an important influential on development and the structural layout of local national economy .Thesis conclusions the basic coal hosting pattern and coal-control structural pattern of coal in Shanggu coalfiled , through collectting and arranging the datas of geological exploration and coal production in diffierent periods and systems, and lays a theory foundation for the potential evaluation of coal in Shanggu coalfiled. Thesis vectorizes or format converts the basic datas which are related to potential evaluation of coal in different types and formats , unifies for the layout of MapGIS and then founds the Spatial database of Shanggu coalfield . Thesis draws 4 forecasting targets : Maanshan forecasting target,Qingshan forecasting target,Yangshan forecasting target and Picong forecasting target.On the basis of referring expert opinions, thesis analysises comprehensively the geological conditions , mining conditions as well as economic benefit of exploration and development of 4 forecasting targets, finally determined Yangshan forecasting target as the forecasting area,which will be carried out potential evaluation further.Thesis carrys out the modelling by AHP on Yangshan forecasting area ,and then obtains the evaluation factors and the weights of every evaluation factor. Basing on the weights uses the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to get the comprehensive quantitative evaluation,and draws the"Secondary"result. of Yangshan forecasting area , and provides direction for recent exploration of Shanggu coalfield as well as excavation replacement of Yangshan mine .
