Phorid flies belongs to subfamily Phoridae, Diptera which distribute worlewide except the poles. This is mainly due to its sort is more, can adapt to all kinds of living environment. Main way of life of the most phorid flies rely on corruption feeding, dung predatory or corpse predatory. But there are parasitic, with the predatory and plant predatory for lifestyle species. Therefore, they can live in the intestines of human and other vertebrates and wound rotting place, causing flies maggots disease occurrence. Phorid flies are also important pests on mushroom cultivation industry. Instead, many varieties of phorid flies are pests predators and can be used as indicator environment of animals. This is closely related to multiformity of phorid fly.Phorid flies is usually a small species, length 1-6mm, yellow, brown, or dark color. The mesonotum is apparent apophysis, as bow-backed, English name humpbacked flies thus characteristics to come. Wing has no horizontal arteries veins, three costa veins developed significantly. Coax of Phorid is long, femur is brawny, similar to mesh insects. Phorid flies is lively, quickly, is good at scurry. In this paper observ and describe the external morphology of Phorid fly systematically and standardize terms, and clarify the ideological problems and disputes. Discuss some polarities and evolutionary meanings of features. Focus on studying and discussing whether having median furrow, the shape of ocellus area, the shape of the third antennae, the position of arista had been born, the number of antenna and direction, the shape variation of palpus and whether having sensor, whether having the bristle in chest, the vein of R2+3 whether missing, whether having sense organ and bristle on the leg,the morphological changes of abdomen tergite, the polarity of male hypandrium, the morphological changes of female terminalia and so on.
