3D GIS Applications In The Digital Ocean

In recent years, with the developing of 3S technology,and the improving level of "Digital Ocean" theory,in order to make the management of ocean resources more effective,many countries have greatly strengthened the intensity of ocean resource management,and established a number of mature marine information management system.Our Country has accelerated the pace of construction of marine information in recent years too.In 2004,China implemented a special project of comprehensive survey and the evaluation of offshore marine,and established the target of constructing "Chinese offshore 'Digital Ocean' information infrastructure framework".With the releasing of "iOcean",China has built a system of digital ocean in national level,but in local level we still need to strengthen the research of digital ocean system.Zhongshan hopes to establish a "Digital Ocean" information platform,and make its variety marine information into the perfect system for ocean resource management gradually.For the demands this paper is target to explore 3D GIS technology in the application of "Digital Ocean" system by constructing an "Digital Ocean" system of Zhongshan,and to explore the construction of information system in Chinese offshore local marine department.This paper first describes the research background,status of domestic and international marine information research,the research significance and content.This paper expore the 3D GIS technology in the application of "Digital Ocean", and on this basis it complete the design of the overall structure of the system by the example of constructing an "Digital Ocean" system of Zhongshan,then it design the functional modules according to the overall design,related technology theory and the specific demands.Finally,it complete the research system by using language of Visual C#,3D engine of Direct3D,basis of EV-Globe 3D digital earth platform,with the Web Services,LOD technology,and modeling tools such as Google SketchUp.
