The Odorrana lungshengesis which distributed in Hunan Mangshan National Nature Reserve (hereinafter referred to Mangshan Nature Reserve), have been named as a new species of 0. yizhangensis by Fei Liang, in 2007. As 0. yizhangensis has been mistaken for O. lungshengensis, So far, there is no other report about O. yizhangensis.Under the cooperation of the Administration Bureau of Hunan Mangshan National Nature Reserve, a field survey was carried out about the research of habitat selection and population dynamics of O.yizhangensis during the breeding season in this area, and chose O. schmakeri to spend a similar ecological habits of a comparative study, respectively from 25th of July to 5th of August in 2009, from 26th of August to 5th of September, from 19th of October to 24th.The author conduct field surveys about:distribution and distribution rule of 0. yizhangensis and O. schmakeri; population dynamics and reproductive biology of O. yizhangensis and O. schmakeri; reproductive strategy of O. yizhangensis and O. schmakeri. By survey:(1) O. yizhangensis select evening activities were significantly, select significant altitude of 1051~1350m, vegetation was mixed shrub-grass and arbor, high canopy, air temperature 21.0~26.8℃,humidity 57.0%~70.0%, channel width 9.5~17.5m, water surface width 3.7~8.3m, low velocity of flow, water temperature 21.1~24.8℃, pH value of less than 7.0, dissolved oxygen was less than 4.5 mg·L-1,depth of water 10~30 cm, distance to road more than 100m, distance to dam more than 1000m; O. schmakeri. select evening activities were significantly, select significant altitude of 450~750m, vegetation was shrub-grass, low canopy, air temperature 21.0~26.8℃,humidity 71.0%~84.0%, channel width more than 25.5m, water surface width 13.0~17.6m, middle velocity of flow, water temperature 21.1~24.8℃,pH value of 7.0~7.3,dissolved oxygen of 4.5~5.5 mg·L-1, depth of water more than 10 cm, distance to road less than 100m, distance to dam less than 1000m.(2) During breeding season,94.12% of O. yizhangensis chose the rivel which at the height between 1051m and 1350m as their spawning field, no O. yizhangensis would distribution at low- altitude river, but 80.56% of O. schmakeri chose 1051~1350m as their spawning field,a few O. schmakeri would distribution at high- altitude river, different spawning field in the choice of altitude there is a clear distinction between the two; With decreasing temperature,O. schmakeri will migration from the middle altitude to the low altitude river, but O. yizhangensis will be a substantial migration from river to forest.(3)The study found that sexual maturity O. yizhangensis cases of male head-body length was 49.5±2.6(n=23), female head-body length was 63.2±4.0 (n=8); sexual maturity O. schmakeri cases of male head-body length was 43.3±2.3 (n=223), female head-body length was 78.7±5.3 (n=19); O. yizhangensis and O. schmakeri sex ratio♀:(?) were 1:5.4 and 1:13.3; O. yizhangensis fecundity was about 371,according to documented O. schmakeri fecundity was about 1500, a great difference between the two. Survival may be due to different pressures to form a different reproductive strategy:O. schmakeri has high fecundity, with a large number of offspring to cope with environmental stress; O. yizhangensis has less habitat stress, so they has low fecundity.(4) The breeding season of O. yizhangensis was form July to September, and O. schmakeri was form July to August, they did not have clear differentiation, but through the two breeding habitat selection analysis showed that the selection of spawning field have differentiation of very significant at the various ecological factors.O. yizhangensis and O. schmakeri was sympatric in Mangshan Nature Reserve, but their habitat selection and use has avoided competition of resources. Strong guarantees to avoid the spawning field of competition and the tadpole competition for food resources.
