This is an era based on knowledge.As one of the most important manifestations of knowledge,technology is playing a more and more important role.Both the growth of national economy and the development of firms are closely related to technology.The resources and capabilities which are related to technology have become the key to improve firm performance and obtain competitive advantages.From the perspective of fit,only by strengthening the use of technology resources and the management of technology-related capabilities,and promoting the integration and coordination of technology-related resources and capabilities,can firm performance be continuously realized and the formation of core competitive advantages of firm be strengthened.From the operation practice,the gap between the level of technological innovation of Chinese firms and that of firms in advanced countries is still large.In addition,the firm performance is relatively low and there is still a lack or deficiency of competitive advantages in the international market.An important factor is the lack of synergistic interaction between elements and capabilities,especially the lack of fit between technology management capability and internal and external key elements,which affects the effect of technology management capability,weakens the role of technology management capability in improving firm performance,and is not conducive to the formation of competitiveness and the maintenance of competitive advantage.Therefore,it is of practical necessity and theoretical importance to analyze the fit between technology management capability and internal elements and the fit between technology management capability and external elements as important influencing factors of firm performance,and to explore the influencing mechanism of technology management capability fit on firm performance.First,this study defines the concepts of important variables such as technology management capability,technology capability,corporate governance,institutional development degree,national culture and national development degree.Based on the fit theory,this study explores the fit effect of technology management capability from three aspects: within the technology management system,within the firm system and outside the firm system.Applying knowledge ecology theory,this study analyzes the micro reasons for the fit effect of internal elements of technology management capability,the fit effect between technology management capability and technology capability,and the fit effect between technology management capability and national culture and national development,and constructs a theoretical analysis framework for the fit effect of technology management capability on firm performance.Then,the fit effect of technology management capability is studied from three aspects: within the technology management system,within the firm system and outside the firm system.Within the technology management system,this study explores the impact of the fit of different sub-capabilities of technology management capability on firm performance.This study analyzes the performance and knowledge mechanism of the fit effect of the sub-capabilities,and identifies the influencing elements of the sub-capabilities and the fit effect of them.On this basis,this study constructs a basic model of the effect of internal elements of technology management capability and a comprehensive model of the fit effect of internal elements of technology management capability,and the comprehensive model is simulated.Based on the theoretical and simulation results,this study constructs the mechanism model of the impact of the fit of sub-capabilities of technology management capability on firm performance.Within the firm system,this study analyzes the impact of the fit of technology management capability and technology capability on firm performance and the fit between technology management capability and technology capability.From the perspective of resource-based view,this study discusses the relationship between the fit of technology management capability and technology capability and firm performance,the moderating effect of incentive mechanism and supervision mechanism on them,and the secondary moderating role of the degree of institutional development playing in the regulation of corporate governance mechanism.After samples selection,data statistics and regression analysis,the results indicates that the impact mechanism of the fit of technology management capability and technology capability on firm performance.Outside the firm system,this study analyzes the impact of the fit of technology management capability and cultural background and national development on firm performance.Based on Hofstede’s cultural dimension theory,this study analyzes the affecting of fit of technology management capability betweeen uncertainty avoidance,power distance,collectivism tendency,feminine tendency,long-term orientation,and national development on firm performance.Using meta-analysis technology,this study tests the research hypotheses,and reveals the heterogeneous influence of the fit of technology management capability with cultural background and national development on firm performance.Finally,based on the research results of three levels,within the technology management system,within the firm system and outside the firm system,this study interprets six paths of how the fit of technology management capability affects firm performance,and constructs a three-level model of how technology management capability affects firm performance from the fit perspective.According to the paths and model of the fit effect of technology management capability and China’s development stage,this study puts forward strategies to improve firm performance from the aspects of strengthening technology management capability,reinforcing the fit effect of sub-capability of technology management capability,intensifying the fit effect of technology management capability on technology capability and culture. |
